“Courage (мужество) : Great Russian word, fit for the songs of our children’s children, pure on their tongues, and free.” — Anna Akhmatova

I prayed we would never get to this stage — but here we are — NEVER AGAIN IS NOW:

The rise of fascism in the United States.

‘Red Dawn’ is here, and the first wave of invasion was through disinformation.

Resist! This is not a drill. We all must fight against the resurrection of tyranny through tRUmp and his ethnonationalist regime.

No more hypothetical assertions as to what we would have done in Berlin, 1932. We are in that moment once more. I will use my words, they will not stop me.

I currently work as a consultant on multilingualism and data theory, as well as provide translation and interpretation services, with a strong emphasis on operational security. Seattle, WA: at the speedily evolving intersections of text and tech, applying my knowledge of cultural linguistics and coding to help integrate multilingual applications with social media localisation. Those of us who spent our adolescence sequestered in basements with home computers learned quite a few tricks, I can assure you.

I speak/read/write Japanese, Welsh, and Russian, the latter being a result of intensive course study as required by my job. I pick up languages very quickly, and it’s a skill I have offered in duty to my adopted nation. I am extremely passionate about the survival and endurance of the Welsh language. And I write my novels yn Gymraeg.

I’m also an American immigrant with a green card and a handgun owner.

Former academic and university lecturer: specialities in gender, culture, and the philosophy of language.  Education as situating ‘the feminine’ — linguistically, symbolically, psychologically, socially, etc — is a quintessential motif of my academic work, fictional novels, and personal aesthetic.

My first book, Ancestral Recall: The Celtic Revival and Japanese Modernism, was published by McGill-Queen’s University Press (2016).

You can read more about my book here.

My academic publications are compiled here.

Card carrying member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).*I don’t give a flying feck if you don’t like PETA. I’m a proud monthly supporter, and I will continue to be so. We win victories. We get shit done; we save  lives; we bring about society-wide changes for justice against cruelty through our dedication. Hell-yeah I ❤ PETA!!! Volunteering as an animal rescuer and advocating for animal liberation are deeply held commitments of mine.

Miss Gwenllian Lâs is the pseudonym for my fiction. Dw i’n caru’r iaith Gymraeg a llenyddiaeth Gymreig/Gymraeg. Dw i’n awdures Gymraeg/Gymraes.

How to pronounce Gwenllian

Hefyd, dw i’n ysgrifennu nofel gwïar am ddod allan am y tro cyntaf fel menyw drawsrywiol drwy bŵer y Gymraeg fel ail-iaith.

Minority language rights remain at the forefront of my political activism.

Come for the folklore; stay for the abuse. Would name you my favorite authors but they’d be embarrassed if this page turned up in one of their google #namesearches. Apologies for the typos: I’ve lost most of my eyesight, but I get by on my Sybill Trelawney-like vibe. Her and Moaning Myrtle are my favorite Harry Potter characters. You can find me on dark twitter if you know where to look.

I am a member of Plaid Cymru,

Welsh nationalism is not a nativism based on where someone happened to be born.

@Plaid_Cymru has a radical, accepting & outward-looking spirit. Open & inclusive, whoever you are, whatever background, if you want to build a better Wales, we welcome you.
